Top 3 Tips for Making a Car Purchase

Sponsored post.

Its that time of year when everyone is excitedly awaiting their income tax refund. And just like alot of you we will be spending a portion of ours on a new vehicle; and like many of you we were lost on what type of car we wanted and how were we going to find it, how much should we spend? Well that has all become alot easier. and we have found the perfect car for us! Keep reading and follow the steps we took to make sure your ready to make this great purchase!

Here are the steps we took to purchase our new Car.

  1.  Your wants and needs:
    • What type of vehicle do you want or need?
      • A cheap first car for your soon to be 16 daughter?
      • A New work Truck?
      • A New hot sports car?
      • Or maybe a Minivan for you and the grankids to take on family roadtrips?
cars.com is a great place to start when finding a car that is right for you and your needs!
  2. Budget:
    • What can you afford?
      • Are you paying cash or making payments?
      • How much is the insurance?
      • How much does typical upkeep cost?
        • Plugs, Wires, Tires, Oil ect.
  3.  New vs. Used:
    • Although you may want a hot new 2018 ride to show off to all of your friends keep in mind that you can save alot of money not only on the purchase price of the vehicle but also on insurance and replacements parts (when needed) if you choose a pre-owned car or truck that is a few years old!
Other things to consider doing when purchasing either a new or used vehicle are taking the car for a test drive and making sure you really get the best deal you can! Why the test drive you might ask well its pretty simple. Think of it this way; say you found this great truck at an unbeatable price, its just what you have always wanted. You pay for it get everything taken care of, insurance, transfers, taxes ect. Its now yours, you own it. You hop behind the wheel and get ready to head home only to realize you cant see over the steering wheel or reach the breaks EEEKKKSS.. Make sure you are comfortable and feel safe in the car before you commit to it!

And Last but not least, maybe even one of the most important things to do, or not do is to settle and purchase the car right on the spot without making sure its the best price and car for you! Check out multiple similar vehicles and make sure you can afford it in full before jumping in!

Are you ready to go get that new ride now?
Leave a comment and let us know what your dream car is!
